TM Series
More Than Just the Fine Line
The TM Series produces CAD documents, posters, banners, and flyers on one device. A newly formulated magenta ink delivers strong red reproduction for eye-catching retail POPs and office displays, while pigment ink across all colors keeps prints fade-resistant and water-resistant for outdoor use. RDI’s Plotter Service Agreement, Built on Canon eCarePAK
Every plotter we sell or lease can be covered by RDI’s service agreement, which is built on Canon’s eCarePAK Extended Service Plan. You deal with RDI from start to finish: we quote and register the agreement, we take the service call, and we dispatch a Canon-authorized technician to your office in NYC or on Long Island. Here is what the agreement covers, how a call works, and what it leaves out.
What the agreement covers
- Repair or replacement of any defective part, at no charge, for the length of the agreement
- Replacement of the whole printer when a repair is not the answer, with coverage carrying over to the new unit
- Technical support through RDI, with remote troubleshooting before any site visit
- Coverage starts the day Canon’s limited warranty ends and runs to the date on your certificate
- Extendable before it expires, up to Canon’s maximum term for the model
How a service call works
- Call RDI at (212) 244-9480 in NYC or (631) 317-2156 on Long Island, or open a ticket online. Have your model and serial number handy
- We troubleshoot remotely first. Most driver, queue, and settings problems are resolved on that call
- If it is a hardware fault, RDI dispatches a Canon-authorized technician to your office, or arranges a comparable replacement unit or carry-in repair when that is the faster path
- On-site, the technician replaces printheads, feed and cutter parts, and other failed components, then runs a test print on your media before leaving
What it does not cover
- Ink tanks, maintenance cartridges, and other consumables; printheads may carry their own limited warranty
- Covers, lids, and trim parts
- Damage from misuse, power fluctuation, non-Canon ink or media, or repairs by anyone Canon has not authorized
- Preventive maintenance and inspections
- Accessories, software, or connected equipment not distributed by Canon, and printers used outside the United States
Installation is part of the agreement too: RDI places the printer on its stand, loads media, fills the ink tanks, runs a test print, and connects it to your network on request. The consumables the agreement excludes, genuine Canon ink, printheads, maintenance cartridges, and roll media, come from RDI and can share an invoice with your Sharp copiers through Managed Print. The service agreement is optional, is never required to buy or finance the printer, and can be cancelled for a full refund within 30 days if no claim has been made. Already own an imagePROGRAF? An agreement can be added while Canon’s limited warranty or an existing eCarePAK is still active; after that, an inspection may be required first. Ask about a service agreement when you request a quote, or contact us with the model and serial number.

Which imagePROGRAF series is right for my business?
If you print CAD drawings, posters, and signage day to day, the TM Series is usually the right fit. If you run a print room with high daily volume and need dual rolls plus scanning, look at the TZ Series. If color accuracy and archival quality are the point — photography, fine art, proofing — the PRO Series is the one. Tell us what you print and how much, and we will size it for you.
Can I add a scanner to a Canon large-format printer?
Yes. The TM and TZ printers have matching MFP scanner configurations — the Lm24 and Lm36 for lighter scan volume, and the Z36 for high-volume, high-resolution work. The Z36 mounts directly on top of the printer, so it does not take up extra floor space.
Will prints hold up outdoors or on long-term display?
Canon uses pigment ink across all colors on these devices. That makes prints resistant to fading over time and adds water resistance for outdoor use — suitable for long-term signage as well as technical documents and line drawings. The PRO Series adds high scratch resistance and light resistance for archival photo and fine-art output.
Are these devices secure enough for a regulated environment?
The TZ Series ships with PIN printing, a self-encrypting hard drive using AES-256, IPSec and 802.1x support, TLS, and the ability to disable the USB and Ethernet ports. The TM-355 also carries a 500 GB encrypted drive. We configure these settings during deployment to match your security policy.
Do you supply the ink and media too?
Yes. RDI supplies genuine Canon ink tanks, printheads, maintenance cartridges, and roll media, the consumables that the service agreement does not cover. If you also run copiers with us, wide-format supplies can sit on the same account and the same invoice. See our Managed Print Services for automatic supply replenishment.
Do you repair and service Canon plotters?
Yes. RDI services the Canon imagePROGRAF plotters and large format printers we sell and lease under RDI’s service agreement, which is built on Canon’s eCarePAK Extended Service Plan. You call RDI, we troubleshoot remotely first, and if it is a hardware fault we dispatch a Canon-authorized technician to your office in NYC or on Long Island for printhead replacement, feed and cutter parts, and other failed components, or arrange a replacement unit or carry-in repair when that is faster. Ink, maintenance cartridges, and preventive maintenance are not covered. Ask about a service agreement so plotter repair never stalls a deadline.
How long does the service agreement last, and can I extend it?
Coverage begins when Canon’s limited warranty on the printer ends and runs to the expiration date on your certificate. You can extend it before it expires, up to the maximum term Canon allows for the model. If you already own an imagePROGRAF and its limited warranty or an existing eCarePAK is still active, we can add a service agreement; once coverage has lapsed, an inspection may be required first. The agreement is optional and can be cancelled within 30 days for a full refund if no claim has been made.
